On the other hand Gurjan is a slow growing timber species usage of which directly results in deforestation and therefore is NOT Sustainable. Look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified plywood for verified sustainable sourcing. Low formaldehyde emission (E0/E1) plywood is healthier for indoor use.
What is the difference between IS 303 and IS 710 plywood?
As per the standards, 303 plywood is Moisture resistant and Boiling water-resistant plywood. On the other hand, 710 plywood is Boiling waterproof plywood, it is also called Marine Plywood. 303 plywoods are water resistant and not waterproof. Such plywood can withstand only a certain level of humidity and dampness. 710 plywoods, on the other hand, are completely waterproof as they are tailor-made for marine applications. IS 303 covers MR and BWR grades for general purposes, while IS 710 covers BWP/Marine grade for high-moisture and marine applications.
